NEW IO Diffuser - Acrylic Series - In-Tank CO2 Diffuser

The IO diffuser, Acrylic Series: the world's finest dissolution rate with an easily replaceable ceramic membrane, in a sturdy acrylic body that protects it from cracks and knocks. Two sizes: small for aquariums under 150 litres, large for aquariums over 150 litres.

The nano CO2 mist membrane gives excellent dissolution, the materials are durable and maintenance is easy — a diffuser for novices and expert aquascapers alike. It is used like a regular glass atomizer diffuser but dissolves more of the CO2.

How a CO2 diffuser works

A diffuser makes the CO2 entering the aquarium easier for plants to take up and wastes less of it. As the gas passes through the porous membrane it breaks into streams of tiny bubbles; with their larger surface area they dissolve readily into the water and raise the CO2 saturation of the aquarium.

How to use it

Connect your CO2 tubing to the diffuser and set the regulator to at least 2 bar as a starting point. Let the diffuser soak in the aquarium water for at least four hours before you pressurise it, and allow a few minutes for the pressure to build up before the CO2 starts to pass through — it may not start instantly.

At first the diffuser produces large bubbles around the ring. Over the first 24 hours the ceramic pores fill with water and the bubbles shrink to their proper size.
